Amazon.com has announced its plan to introduce its palm-payment technology, known as Amazon One, to all Whole Foods locations in the United States by the end of this year. With this system, customers will have the convenience of using their palm for identification, payment, loyalty membership, and entry.
Currently available at over 200 Whole Foods locations, Amazon One will soon be accessible across all of the more than 500 U.S. stores. Customers who choose to opt in can simply hover their hand over an Amazon One device to make a payment.
The demand for this service has been growing rapidly, as indicated by its popularity at other establishments. Apart from Whole Foods, Amazon One is also available at third-party locations such as Panera Bread and Coors Field, the home stadium of the Colorado Rockies baseball team. In fact, Amazon reveals that its Amazon One service has already surpassed 3 million uses.
With this expansion, Amazon is further solidifying its commitment to providing innovative and convenient payment options for customers.
