These units were manufactured by Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. between January 2011 and February 2014.

Gree has reported a concerning number of incidents associated with the faulty dehumidifiers. To date, there have been 23 fires, 688 cases of overheating, and a total of $168,000 in property damage. As a precautionary measure, consumers are strongly advised to discontinue the use of these dehumidifiers immediately and unplug them from the power source.

The affected dehumidifiers were available for purchase at several retailers nationwide, including Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards, Sam’s Club, Sears, and Walmart.
