European stocks experienced gains on Monday, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index closing up 0.23% at 450.20.
FTSE 100, German DAX, and French CAC 40 Increase
The FTSE 100 index rose 0.41% to 7,630.63, the German DAX increased by 0.34% to 15,237.99, and the French CAC 40 index saw a rise of 0.27% to reach 7,022.19.
Top Gainers Among Stoxx Europe 600 Constituents
Bank Polska Kasa Opieki S.A. saw the largest increase among Stoxx Europe 600 constituents, as shares jumped 13.3%. Shares of Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski S.A., a banking/credit firm, rose by 11.3%. Similarly, Sinch AB, a technology company, witnessed a gain of 9.0%. Fossil fuels company ORLEN S.A. and business services business S4 Capital PLC also experienced substantial increases, with their stocks adding 8.5% and 6.7%, respectively.
Largest Decrease Among Stoxx Europe 600 Constituents
Afry AB, a business services company, saw the largest drop among Stoxx Europe 600 constituents as its shares weakened by 7.5% on Monday. Telephone systems firm Telecom Italia S.p.A. and retail company Ocado Group PLC also witnessed decreases, with their shares falling by 6.2% and 5.8%, respectively.
Top Decreases Among Stoxx Europe 600 Constituents
Sweco AB Series B, a real estate/construction company, and media/entertainment company Viaplay Group AB Series B witnessed the largest decreases, with their stocks dropping by 5.5% and 4.4%, respectively.
Currency and Crude Oil Update
The pound was up 0.43% against the dollar, while the euro saw a 0.34% increase. Brent crude weakened by 1.11% to reach $89.88.
Changes in Bond Yields
The yield on the 10-year gilt increased by 9.26 basis points to 4.484%. Additionally, the yield on the German 10-year bund increased by 5.150 basis points to 2.79%.
