Orsted has put forward the appointment of Lene Skole as the new chair and Andrew Brown as the deputy chair of the board.
A Strategic Shift
The Danish renewable-energy company recently unveiled a comprehensive plan involving cost reductions, a dividend pause, asset disposals, and fresh business priorities. This initiative comes in the wake of challenges faced in the U.S. offshore wind market over the past year.
Transition in Leadership
In line with the newly announced strategy, current Chair Thomas Thune Andersen has opted not to seek re-election at the upcoming annual general meeting. After a decade in the position, he aims to step aside, allowing a new chair to steer the company’s path forward.
Meet the Incoming Leaders
Lene Skole, presently the deputy chair of Orsted and the CEO of The Lundbeck Foundation, has been deeply involved in the development of the group’s business plan for 2030. She is fully dedicated to executing this strategic roadmap.
Andrew Brown, with a longstanding career in the energy sector and former CEO of Galp, will assume the role of deputy chair. A member of Orsted’s board since 2023, he is also serving as interim chief operating officer until late March 2024.
