Wendy’s, the popular fast-food chain based in Dublin, Ohio, has announced its plans to expand into Australia. The company has signed a deal with the franchising giant Flynn Restaurant Group to develop 200 Wendy’s restaurants Down Under by 2034.
Flynn Restaurant Group will be Wendy’s exclusive master franchisee in Australia and will primarily drive growth in the country after 2025. The goal is to open 200 restaurants across Australia by 2034, utilizing a combination of equity stores and sub-franchise partners.
Flynn Restaurant Group is a well-established player in the industry, currently owning and operating 2,600 quick-service, fast-casual, and casual-dining restaurants in the U.S. and Australia. This includes nearly 200 Wendy’s locations that were acquired in 2021 as part of the bankruptcy of Wendy’s and Pizza Hut franchisee NPC International. Flynn also operates restaurants for other popular chains such as Applebee’s, Taco Bell, Panera, Arby’s, and Pizza Hut.
This expansion into Australia marks an exciting new chapter for Wendy’s as it looks to bring its delicious menu and famous fast-food experience to a new market. With the support of Flynn Restaurant Group’s expertise and resources, Wendy’s is well-positioned for success in Australia.
