Vigorous EA created by Ryan Brown is an MT4 tool that claims to make consistent profits daily. It is a scalping robot that works mainly on the EURUSD pair. According to the developer, this FX EA can provide a monthly return of up to 3% when the default settings are in use. While the ATS has backtests and real account trading results, the performance is not as effective. Further, the scalping approach does not provide much opportunity for gaining big profits.
Vendor Transparency
Responsible Forex Trading promotes this expert advisor along with products like The Comeback Kid and Ranger EA. The developer, Ryan Brown is based in the United States and has more than 15 years of experience in trading. He has four products and 6 signals to his credit. We could not find info on the founding year or location address of the vendor. For contacting support, an online contact form is the main method available.
How Vigorous EA Works
According to the developer, this MT4 tool uses a larger time frame trend for executing its trades. It focuses on making scalping trades that generate 3 pips to 9 pips max. A flexible grid type of money management is followed only when there is an active trend. The developer claims that the approach is adaptive and can work effectively on any market movement.
Timeframe, Currency Pairs, Deposit
The developer recommends a deposit of $5000 and the leverage of 250:1 for this FX robot. For this EA, the EURUSD is the main currency pair. The use of default settings is ideal as per the developer as he claims that the EA can complete up to 100 scalps per week.
Trading Approach
As its main strategy this EA uses the scalping approach. While the developer mentions using an adaptive strategy, we cannot find any further elaboration on the approach. There are a couple of backtests on the site. Here is a screenshot of one of the backtests on the myfxbook site.
The backtest above started in January 2005 and ended in March 2021. During the 16 years of testing, the deposit of $5000 has resulted in a total return of 2458.24%. A daily gain of 0.05% and a monthly gain of 1.66% is present. The profitability value is 75%. A drawdown value of 52.86% is shown for the test done on Every Tick model type. While the profit looks good, the high drawdown denotes that the approach used is of high risk.
Pricing and Refund
To purchase this FX robot, you need to spend $247. The vendor does not reveal any info on the features available with the package. There is no mention of a money-back guarantee which makes us suspect the reliability of the ATS. When compared to the price of the other competitor EAs, the price is expensive.
Trading Results
A demo USD account with the track record and trading privileges verified by the myfxbook site is provided by the vendor. The account uses the leverage of 1:100 and uses the Metatrader 4 platform. Here are screenshots of the results.
From the stats found on the images above, we can see a total profit of 7.67% and an absolute gain of 7.45%. The drawdown value is 13.90% and the daily and monthly profits are 0.055 and 1.51%. For the account started in February 2021, a total of 1377 trades have been executed with a profitability of 71%.
The profit factor value is 1.50 and from the trading history, we can see lot sizes of 0.01 and 0.02 are used for the trading. Although the drawdown is low, the profits are not high for this account which indicates an ineffective trading approach. When compared to the backtesting results, we can see a difference in the drawdown while the profitability is similar.
People say that Vigorous EA is…
Not a good trading tool. This is because of the total lack of user reviews for the MT4 tool on sites like Forexpeacearmy, Trustpilot, MQL5, and more. The absence of testimonials from users indicates this is not a popular EA among traders.
Verdict

Vigorous EA Conclusion
Vigorous EA claims to provide consecutive profits for several months. From our evaluation of the features, approach, backtests, and trading results, we find that the FX EA is unreliable. Contrary to the claims of the developer, we do not find appreciable profits from the backtests and the trading results. With the backtests the high drawdown and low profitability show poor performance. In the case of the trading results, only a demo account is present and is of a shorter duration. The small sample size and low profits show the system is not effective.
